PURPOSE: A method for maintaining the consistency of space switch data is provided to check and compare local data managed in a main processor of a space switching block and data of a matrix control memory and a sub-processor, and release an incorrectly occupied space switch. CONSTITUTION: If a message is received, a main processor of a space switching block judges whether the received message is a highway/channel resource data check request message transmitted from a resource management block(S603). If the received message is not the highway/channel resource data check request message, the main processor judges whether the corresponding message is a check response message transmitted from a sub-processor i.e., space switching association data of the sub-processor and a matrix control memory(S607). If the corresponding message is a check response message transmitted from the sub-processor, the main processor compares local data managed in the main processor with the space switching association data of the sub-processor and the matrix control memory(S611). The main processor judges whether local data of the main processor with an idle state are not identical to local data of the sub-processor with a busy state(S613). If the local data of the main processor with the idle state are identical to the local data of the sub-processor with the busy state, the main processor transmits a check result message to a source management block. If the local data of the main processor with the idle state are not identical to the local data of the sub-processor with the busy state, the main processor transmits a release request message about the corresponding inconsistent highway/channel resources to the sup-processor(S617), and transmits a process situation message for managing the highway/channel resources to the resource management block(S615).
