PURPOSE: Provided are an apparatus for stenting a vessel in conjunction with a particular new and useful stent which has a lattice of interconnecting elements defining a substantially cylindrical configuration and method for the same. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for stenting a vessel comprises a stent(100) having a lattice of interconnecting elements defining a substantially cylindrical configuration having a first open end(102) and a second open end(104) wherein the lattice is movable between a closed configuration and an open configuration. In one embodiment, the stent includes a plurality of interlocking bridges(114). In a second embodiment, the stent includes a plurality of interlocking struts. |
