PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket for an electric part for allowing easy replacement of even one contact pin without disassembling the socket body. SOLUTION: The contact pins 14 are arranged in the socket body 13 for housing an IC package 12. An elastically deformable spring part 14c is formed between an upper end part 14a and a lower end part 14b in these contact pins 14. An elastically deformable part 14f having an engaging part 14g in a tip part is formed in the upper end part 14a. The socket body 13 forms an upper side through hole 16a for inserting the upper end part 14a of the contact pins 14 and a lower side through hole 15a for inserting the lower end part 14b of the contact pins 14. The contact pins 14 are inserted from the upper side through hole 16a. The lower end part 14b is inserted into the lower side through hole 15a. The upper end part 14a can be inserted into the upper side through hole 16a by deforming the elastically deformable part 14f. When releasing elastic deformation of the elastically deformable part 14f in an insertion completed state, the engaging part 14g locks on an under surface part 16b of a peripheral edge part of the upper side through hole 16a to check slipping-out of the contact pins 14.
