PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copper alloy, in particular, phosphor bronze which has high strength and excellent bending workability. SOLUTION: The high strength copper alloy strip has a composition containing, by mass, 4 to 11% Sn, 0.02 to 0.2% P, 0.01 to 0.2% Fe and/or 0.01 to 0.2% Ni, and in which the total contents of Ca, Mg, Al and Ti is <=100 ppm, and the balance copper with inevitable impurities.
