<p>A sealing material composition for liquid crystals which is an epoxy resin composition which, upon mixing with pure water, gives an aqueous solution having an ionic conductivity of 1 mS/m or lower, and which gives a B-staged resin having a viscosity at 80 to 100 °C of 50 to 10,000 Pa.s, and gives a cured object having a coefficient of linear expansion of 10x10-5 mm/mm/°C or lower, a heat distortion temperature T¿g? of 100°C or higher, and a water vapor permeability at 80 °C of 200 g/m?2¿.24-hr or lower. The composition has such high reliability with respect to adhesive sealing that it is applicable to liquid-crystal display elements (cells) produced through thermal bonding with a sheet press. It enables the production of a homogeneous liquid-crystal display of high quality.</p> |
