The invention relates to a method for identifying a malign illness in humans or animals and to a test kit for carrying out the inventive method. The invention also relates to the use of said test kit for the selective identification of cytosolic NADP-dependent isocitrate dehydrogenase in human or animal bodily fluids and stools and for the determination of the extent of the malign illness and of a system of treatment.
