The digital camera (1) has a transmitter (7) that takes image data from a memory (3). User data is held in a separate memory (9) and can be selected by the user for display (10). Data in compressed form is transmitted over a mobile phone network to a central server (14) coupled to an image processor (19) that controls a printing facility (20) or relays the data onto the internet.
