PURPOSE: A method of monitoring a tunnel in a GPRS(Generic Packet Radio Service) tunneling protocol is provided to monitor a device allocated in the other node by using an echo message without defining a new audit message, thereby monitoring the tunnel of the GPRS tunneling protocol by adding TEID(Tunnel Endpoint IDentifier) information to the echo message. CONSTITUTION: An echo message of a tunneling protocol has a tunnel audit request in an extension identifier area, and has an identifier meaning a tunnel audit response, then has a tunneling identifier information list of an SGSN(Serving GPRS Support Node)(120) of a GGSN(Gateway GPRS Support Node)(130) where the tunnel is generated in an extension value area of the echo message. When the GGSN(130) receives the echo message from the SGSN(120). The GGSN(130) monitors the extension identifier area of the echo message. If a tunnel monitoring identifier exists, the GGSN(130) monitors the tunneling identifier information list. An abnormal state between the GGSN(130) and the SGSN(120) is confirmed by a monitored result. |
