PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape edge processing apparatus which can securely remove the magnetic layer having a crack in the edge part of a tape. SOLUTION: When the tape 30 is wound by a winding means, the tape 30 is run along the direction of an arrow A, and the tape 30 which is wound like a disk is rotated in the clockwise direction around a winding shaft 16 as the center. A blade 22 is brought into contact with the edge part of the running tape 30, in the energized state in the direction so as to touch the magnetic layer in the edge part of the tape 30. Thus, the magnetic layer including the crack in the edge part of the magnetic tape 30 is cut by a blade part 2204.
