IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD AND IMAGE PROCESSOR USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method to enable detection of the whole of a search object without requiring pickup of a background image in advance and an image processor using it. SOLUTION: A CPU 3 creates a contour image to indicate contours of an object from gray images of a monitoring area A to be inputted from a camera 1 every prescribed time and extracts images of a static object which does not move during the time from a first contour image created in the previous time and a second contour image created this time. In addition, the CPU 3 extracts an image of a transferred region of the search object moved during the time from the second contour image and the image of the static object extracted this time, simultaneously extracts an image of a stopped part of the search object from the image of the static object extracted this time and further creates an image of a search area including the search object from the images of the transferred region and the stopped region extracted this time. And the CPU 3 judges the presence or absence of the search object and its motion by performing a matching processing among the image of the search object, the contour image created this time and a template image.
