PURPOSE: Wind direction vanes of a ceiling air conditioner of a heat pump type and the control method are provided to reduce unpleasant feeling of a user to the minimum. CONSTITUTION: Wind direction vanes(80) of a ceiling air conditioner of a heat pump type comprise an upper and lower wind direction control unit(81) installed to a discharge outlet(24) of a ceiling air conditioner of a heat pump type to be rotated and a diffusion unit(84). Supports(82) are protruded at both side ends of the upper and lower wind direction control unit to connect rotating shafts(44). The upper and lower wind direction control unit guides air discharged into the room and controls the wind direction of the upper and lower direction. The diffusion unit is formed to the upper and lower wind direction control unit so that air guided and discharged into the room by the upper and lower wind direction control unit can be discharged into the room while diffused right and left. The diffusion unit comprises a left guide protruded to the left of the upper and lower wind control unit and a right guide protruded to the right. Therefore, unpleasant feeling of a user is reduced to the minimum.
