Process for hot molding molten glass posts on a mold support comprises: producing a mold support from porous molding material; coating the contact surface of the support with a glass contact material; selecting a layer material and structuring the coating so that the layer has open pores after application and allows a gas-conducting connection between the upper side and the lower side of the layer; and impinging the mold support with a gas to produce a gas bed on the upper side of the layer. The layer is applied on the mold support by sputtering, spraying, dipping or depositing from solutions or suspensions.
