PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recorder in which highly efficient high quality recording can be ensured by optimizing the ejection quantity of ink depending on a temperature rise of a recording head when the recording head is driven at a high speed. SOLUTION: In an image recording system employing a time sharing simultaneous driving method where a plurality of recording elements are divided into a plurality of blocks of a specified number of recording elements and the recording elements belonging to the same block are driven at the same driving timing, an image is recorded by ejecting liquid drops using all blocks when the temperature of a recording head is within a specified range. When the temperature of the recording head exceeds the specified range, blocks to be used are limited depending on the temperature of the recording head to decrease the number of total liquid drops while increasing the quantity of liquid per drop thus ensuring highly efficient high quality recording as a whole.
