<p>The invention relates to a method for the production of perbenzylated 1-O glycosides of general formula (I), or the salts thereof, where Zucker<1> = a monosaccharide with a 1-OH functionality, R = benzyl, n = 2, 3 or 4, X = -O-, -S-, -COO- or NH- and L = a straight or branched chain, saturated or unsaturated C1-C30 hydrocarbon, optionally substituted or interrupted by groups. According to the invention, the method uses cheap starting materials, gives good yields and can be used for the large-scale production of perbenzylated saccharides with 1-O functionalised side chains.</p> |
