PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy-absorbing structure which can efficiently absorb impact energy by shearing of a rib and attain a corresponding constitution to the energy-absorbing amount required. SOLUTION: In the energy-absorbing structure, in which a plurality of the ribs 3 and 4 arranged in a grid shape are mounted to an inner panel 1 of a vehicle body, among lateral ribs 4 facing in one direction, a lateral rib 4c, positioned between the lateral ribs 4a and 4b contacting the inner panel 1, is provided apart from the inner panel 1.
