PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope facilitating an adjusting work for imaging an optical image transmitted by an image guide fiber bundle in the best state on the imaging surface of a solid image pickup device through a re-imaging optical system. SOLUTION: This endoscope 2 comprises the image guide fiber bundle 20 for transmitting an optical image having a tip surface, which is arranged on the imaging position of an objective optical system; a relay optical system 30 formed of both side telecentric optical systems for making the main beam of the optical image emitted from the base end surface of the fiber bundle 20 to a light parallel to the optical axis in the tip surface and base end surface thereof, the tip end surface being arranged opposite to the base end surface of the fiber bundle to relay the optical image incident form the fiber bundle to the base end surface; the solid image pickup device 41 having an imaging surface opposite to the other end surface of the relay optical system 30 to image the optical image emitted from the base end surface; and adjusting screws 51 and 52 capable of adjusting the distance between the base end surface of the fiber bundle 20 and the tip end surface of the relay optical system 30 and the distance between the base end surface of the fiber bundle 20 and the imaging surface of the solid image pickup device 41.
