The pallet (1) has a horizontal load surface (2) and feet (3, 4) at each end. In the center of the pallet is a central aperture (12) in the form of an inverted, truncated pyramid. The second pallet is turned through 90 degrees and the central protrusion is inserted into the aperture of the lower pallet. The next pallet is aligned similarly to the first, and so on. Corner protrusions (16) space the pallets apart.
