PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clipping device for an endoscope in which an indwelled clip does not easily come off from an affected region due to an external force, or the like, thus retaining its excellent indwelling property. SOLUTION: In the clipping device for the endoscope, a clip 2 formed to open and close by allowing a pair of arm portions 2a linked with the basic edge to deform a neighboring site of its basic connection 2c, and a clip closing ring 6 that maintains the arm portion 2a in a closed status nearby the basic connection 2c of the clip 2 to be fixed therewith are arranged in a leading edge of a sheath 1 in a status separable from the sheath 1, wherein a member inserted in the sheath 1 and remote controlled from the basic end of the sheath 1 for transmitting the processing movement fixes the clip closing ring 6 in a status not being fixed nearby the basic connection 2c of the clip 2, where a nail-shaped portion 2b is formed to protrude inward from each leading edge of a pair of portions 2a of the clip 2 in a sharp angle toward the arm portion 2a.
