The invention relates to a voltage regulator for motor vehicle alternators, provided with a timer-type integrated circuit (1), which can have the functions of oscillator and switchable trigger, respectively, said circuit being controlled through two adjustable voltage thresholds (Uj and Us, respectively) secured by two semiadjustable potentiometers (P 1 and P 2, respectively) each connected with the adjustable terminal to a threshold terminal (Pj and Ps, respectively) of the integrated circuit (1). The integrated circuit (1) is supplied through a terminal (A) from the positive voltage bar of the motor vehicle electric installation, and the supply with the stabilized voltage of the voltage control terminal (Ct) of the integrated circuit (1) is carried out by means of a Zener diode (Dz1) serially connected with three silicon diodes (D1, D2, D3), having the role of temperature compensation of the stabilized voltage. A group of transistors ((T) in Darlington mounting is used to condition the winding excitation (EX) of the motor vehicle alternator, the group of transistors (T) being supplied from the terminal (A) of the positive voltage bar of the motor vehicle electric installation. The integrated circuit (1) is also activated through a resistive divider (R 8 and R 9) from the terminal (A) of the positive voltage bar of the motor vehicle electric installation. In order to perform the oscillator function with controlled pulse width-repetition ratio, a capacitor (C3) playing the role of determining the pre-established central frequency of the oscillator is connected, and for performing the switchable trigger function two voltage dividers are connected, each comprising two resistors (R2 and R3 and R4 and R5, respectively) serially connected to a semi-adjustable potentiometer (P1 and P2, respectively).
