PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with an exclusive device for applying a mark corresponding to the type composing information to a glass article for a cathode-ray tube, to automate the quality control on the basis of the information, controlling various kinds of items to the the end of manufacturing of the cathode-ray tube, and properly performing the wide-ranging consistent quality control. SOLUTION: Information display marks 8, 18 capable of automatic reading and indicating the type composing information of the glass article and formed by a metal mold in a press-molding process, are applied to the glass article consisting of a panel 1 for the cathode-ray tube and a funnel 11. The information display marks 8, 18 are formed by binary-encoding plural bar-shaped unit marks 9, 19 and arranging the same in parallel.
