PURPOSE: Reinforcing structure for a quarter pillar of a vehicle body is provided to improve lateral strength and torsional rigidity by distributing load from a suspension to the vehicle body with forming a reinforcing member between a side outer panel and a quarter upper inner panel. CONSTITUTION: A reinforcing member(3) is installed between a side outer panel(1) and a quarter upper inner panel(2) to reinforce a quarter pillar. The upper part of the reinforcing member is extended to a rear head and a side rail(6) of a roof(5), and the lower part of the reinforcing member is connected to a wheel housing. A bending part(8) is formed in the reinforcing member to form the closed section, and the reinforcing member is combined with the vehicle body by welding. Lateral strength or torsional rigidity is improved with distributing load from the suspension through the reinforcing member evenly.
