PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a movement controller for a traveling object for work for perfectly performing a cleaning or wax applying work or the like while traveling in a prescribed work area for allowing the traveling object to surely travel even in a place without any wall being a target or a wide place. SOLUTION: This movement controller is provided with a traveling object for guide traveling on a prescribed orbit along guides arranged in parallel on one side of a work area, and the traveling object for work is provided with an ultrasonic distance meter for emitting ultrasonic waves to the the traveling object for guide, and for receiving reflected waves reflected after butted to the traveling object for guide, and for measuring a distance between the traveling object for work and the traveling object for guide based on the time difference and a controller for controlling the direction for making the distance measured by the distance meter constant.
