HOIST FOR LOADING AND UNLOADING OBJECTS ON A TRUCK BED

A hoist for elevating cargo onto the bed of a truck includes a frame (11) which may be mounted to the truck bed, a platform or container (12) which is connected to the frame by a pivoting arm (9), and an arrangement of linkages for rotating the arm (9) to position the platform either on the truck bed or on a loading and unloading position resting on the ground behind the truck. A hydraulic ram (24) is connected to the arm (9) via the linkages, with the linkages being arranged to increase the effective "flow" of the arm to provide a long travel distance of the arm.
