PURPOSE: To properly correct the density irregularity of a specific color other than a reference color by using the image reading systems adapted to the reference values of Y, M, C, Bk in an ink jet printer. CONSTITUTION: When a test image of a specific color is read by a reading means 31, the color thereof is judged by a hue judging means 601. The optimum one among brightness signals passed through R, G, B filters is selected on the basis of this judgment to be converted to a density value (density formation 603). By the function f(x) corresponding to the color judged with respect to this density value, the density value corresponding to the judged color is set (correction value formation 604, conversion table formation 605) and the correction value corresponding to each emitting orifice is calculated on the basis of the density value and density irregularity is corrected (608). |
