Dough extrusion and cutting - for prodn of chip type snack food

Dough is extruded through a die to provide groups of continuous dough strands which are conveyed from the die in spaced parallel strands to a cutter which severs the strands transversely into pieces which are conveyed through a flaking roller assembly to provide a product in chip form, e.g. ready for deep fat frying. Agglomeration of the dough is avoided.
