PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for dehydrating sludge cake of small grain in a drum filter are provided to perform smooth dehydration by spraying sand onto the surface of the filter dehydrating sludge in the drum filter of a COREX facility, thereby preventing clogging of meshes of the filter surface. CONSTITUTION: In an apparatus for dehydrating sludge of small grain obtained from dust generated from reduction furnace of a COREX facility, the apparatus for dehydrating sludge cake of small grain in a drum filter is characterized in that a plurality of sand spray nozzles(14) for spraying sand(5) onto the surface of a filter cloth(144) are installed on the front side surface of the drum to air-permeability of the filter cloth(144) by spraying sand onto the surface of the filter cloth(144), and clogging of meshes on the filter surface of the filter cloth(144) is prevented by dehydrating the sludge of small grain after adhering water contained sludge (S1) of small grain onto the surface of the sans adhered filter cloth(144), wherein the nozzles(14) are constructed in such a way that the front tip of the nozzles(14) sprays sand(5) from the lower part of the water surface of a sludge pond(150) to the side of the filter cloth(144), the nozzles(14) are constructed in such a way that the front tip of the nozzles(14) sprays sand(5) from the upper part of the water surface of a sludge pond(150) to the side of the filter cloth(144), and the sand spray nozzles(14) are mounted on the entrance side of the sludge pond(150).
