PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a new phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase without requiring an expensive activator according to a genetic engineering technique. SOLUTION: This gene is capable of encoding the phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase containing a specific amino acid sequence derived from Acetobacter hansenii. The recombinant vector contains the gene. The transformant is transformed with the recombinant vector and the method for producing the phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase comprises using the transformant.
