PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface discharge type plasma screen which has a low ignition voltage, low energy consumption, and a long life with high efficiency. SOLUTION: This invention relates to a surface discharge type plasma screen in which discharge electrodes are coated with a dielectric layer. When the thickness and the dielectric constant of the dielectric layer are called d and ε, the dielectric capacitance C=f (d, ε) is varied in the direction crossing discharge channels.
