THERMOELECTRIC MATERIAL AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoelectric material whose figure of merit is high and to provide a method of manufacturing the thermoelectric material. SOLUTION: The thermoelectric material has a composition in which at least one kind of element selected from a group composed of Bi and Sb and at least one kind of element selected from a group composed of Te and Se are contained, a powder whose particle size obtained by a gas atomization process is 0.8 to 500μm is solidified and molded, and an oxide film 500 nm thick or less is formed on the surface of the powder. The thermoelectric material can have sphericity in which the mean of differences between a maximum size and a minimum size in one powder particle is 10% or less.
