CONJUGATED DIENE COPOLYMER RESIN, METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE RESIN, RUBBER MODIFIER, RUBBER COMPOSITION AND VULCANIZATE OF THE COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin useful as a modifier for rubber, capable of improving wear resistance without decreasing impact resilience of the rubber. SOLUTION: The resin is a copolymer resin of a cyclomonoolefin monomer with a 4-5C linear conjugated diene, having <=5 wt.% toluene insoluble content, 5,000-50,000 number-average molecular weight and >=35 deg.C glass-transition temperature. The copolymer is produced by polymerizing the each monomer in the presence of a catalyst comprising a titanium halide and an organoaluminium compound.
