摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To bring an exhaust manifold connecting an exhaust port to an exhaust emission control device lose to the rear face of an engine block as much as possible in an engine of rear exhaust provided with an exhaust emission control device installed directly below. SOLUTION: A connection part 23c of an exhaust emission control device 23 to which a collection part 17a of an exhaust manifold 17 extending lower backward from the rear face of a cylinder head 14 is connected is decentered to the side of an engine block 13 by a distanceεagainst an axis L of a cylindrical body casing 23a, the exhaust manifold 17 is brought close to the rear face of the engine block 13 as much as possible so as to avoid traveling wind, and temperature drop of the exhaust gas is prevented so as to promote early temperature rise of the exhaust emission control device 23. As the exhaust manifold 17 is brought close to the rear face of the engine block 13, a collision stroke S for which an engine E can go backward at a head-on collision can be enlarged.
