The assembly (1) to spread out the edges (2) of moving fabric piecegoods (3), to unroll curling selvages, has at least two rotating spiral spreading rollers (4) held on both sides in holders (8, 9) for the fabric to pass around. To set the angle, around which the fabric moves over the rollers, the holders together with the rollers swing around an axis (10) parallel to the rollers. Two shafts (16) carry the swing movement from one holder to the other, rotating around their longitudinal axes (19). The shafts pass through the spreading rollers, without affecting the fabric movement. The shafts are operated by a planetary gearing (17, 18) which engages the holders.
