PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric reel enabling the control of a fishing line and the complete wind-up of the line only at the perfect bite of a fish. SOLUTION: The reel is provide with a means to detect the delivery length and the wound length of a fishing line, a means for separately setting the preset delivery length and winding length and a means compare the lengths detected by the detection means with the preset lengths set by the setting means and control the rotation of the spool according to the compared results. The reel is adjusted to sink and stop a fishing tackle at the fishing depth, allows the reverse rotation of the spool according to the load of the caught fish to deliver the line, stop the reverse rotation of the spool when the detected delivery length of the line exceeds the preset level and wind up the line by the preset length.
