Invention proposes medium-alloy building steel comprising components in the following ratio, wt.%: carbon, 0.03-0.19; manganese, 0.6-2.8; silicon, 0.6-2.2; chrome, 0.6-2.2; nickel, 0.4-1.0; copper, 0.4-1.0; aluminium, 0.05-0.25; titanium, 0.02-0.25; vanadium, 0.02-0.25; boron, 0.001-0.015; iron, the balance. Steel can comprise additionally zirconium and niobium in the amount 0.01-0.25 wt.% of each component. EFFECT: enhanced strength, ductility and corrosion resistance under conditions of exploitation at low temperatures and in seismodanger regions. 1 tbl
