PURPOSE: A method for fabricating a progressive lens is provided to reduce in thickness and weight by secondarily grinding a nonused plane after a diameter of lens is reduced and an upper portion and a lower portion of lens is cut horizontally. CONSTITUTION: A method for fabricating a progressive lens reduced in thickness and weight includes the steps of: (S10) forming a far field region, a near field region and a variable region by firstly grinding a circular plastic lens with matching a work data;(S20) cutting the circumference of the plastic lens in circle to reduce the diameter of the firstly ground lens; (S30) cutting an upper portion and a lower portion of the lens in horizontal account for a shape and a size of glasses frame; (S40) secondarily grinding a nonused plane of the lens cut in horizontal; (S50) polishing a surface of the secondarily ground lens.
