摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passive optical network system that allows a plurality of slave stations to transmit packets under arbitration and permits free communication between a master station and the slave stations. SOLUTION: The master station 1 in the passive optical network is provided with a packet termination circuit 6 detecting that the slave station 2 is in a state of signal transmission through an uplink, a collision detection circuit 7 that detects collision of uplink variable length packets from a plurality of the slave stations, and an OAM packet/frame generating circuit 5 that transmits an outgoing packet with access sate information detecting an uplink transmission state and the collision detection information detecting the collision to a slave station group, and each slave station is provided with a collision detection/ transmission channel busy detection circuit 10 that detects the access state information and the collision detection information set in the outgoing packet from the master station and generates transmission permission information in the order determined by the system and a packet generation/transmission circuit 12 that generates an uplink packet and transmits it when detecting the transmission permission information.
