IMAGE READER, AND IMAGE READING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader that employs a plurality of point light sources to configure its optical system, so as to eliminate ununiformity of the luminous quantity, thereby attaining a compact configuration and improves the quality of a copy image by eliminating a partially caused black image (shadow). SOLUTION: The image reader adopts a plurality of the point light sources 201, arranged in parallel with the main scanning direction which the read direction of a line sensor for the light source of a read optical system.
