The lock has a part at one end of a cable (5) which is permanently secured to the casing (4) and the at the other end of the cable is a part (6) which can be inserted into and passed through the casing. The part protruding beyond the casing acts as a fixing device. The lock comprises a flexible middle part in the form of a cable, a first part at one end of the cable and a second insertible part at the other end. The lock is secured into position between the hub and rim. Part of the bicycle can be located between the arms of the U-shaped casing. The insertible part is received by an opening located close to the free ends of the arms and extending substantially perpendicular to the leg length axis. An independent claim is also included for a bicycle comprising a frame and the above lock.
