PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To heighten machining accuracy while increasing machining efficiency by simultaneously machining both side end faces of plate shape of a workpiece with two cutting tools in a machining device. SOLUTION: This machining device has a rotationally driven main spindle 14 to which the workpiece 8 is fixed, and a Z-axis table 16, an X-axis table 1 and a Y-axis table 15 on the X-axis table 1, respectively reciprocated by servo motors 4, 17, 18. A first cutting tool 6 and a third cutting tool 5 are set onto the X-axis table 1, and a second cutting tool 7 is set to the Y-axis table 15. In response to a detection signal from a touch sensor 9 on the X-axis table 1, a controller controls to carry out rough machining of a front side end face 20 of the workpiece 8 with the third cutting tool 5 and then to carry out simultaneous machining of the front side end face 20 of the workpiece 8 with the second cutting tool 7 and an inner side end face 19 with the first cutting tool 6.
