PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for image processing which can improve the development speed and reduce development costs, and a program therefor. SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus processes image data taken via a predetermined image interface from an image output device which supplies image data having a plurality of color spaces via the image interface to an imaging apparatus. Any of the color spaces of the image data taken via the image interface is designated beforehand, and predetermined image processing is carried out to the designated color space.
