PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold assembly capable of stably holding an insert or a core in one of a fixed mold and a movable mold until both molds are joined (clamped). SOLUTION: A suction passage 26 connecting the bottom part of a molding recessed part 22 and a vacuum pump P is provided in the fixed mold 21 and the bottom part is depressurized and sucked by the vacuum pump P through the suction passage 26. The skirt 11 integrated with the insert or the core 10 is fitted in the bottom part of the molding recessed part 22 before the fixed mold 21 and the movable mold 31 are joined (clamped) and depressurizing suction force is exerted on the close contact region of the bottom part and the skirt 11. The core 10 and the skirt 11 are stably held in the molding recessed part 22 by this sucking action and can be arranged at the normal position in a molding space even after mold clamping.
