PURPOSE: To eliminate circuit redundancy of a signal amplifier part in a display device. CONSTITUTION: In the case of analog display, an analog video signal amplified by an analog amplifier 10 is outputted to a liquid crystal panel 100. In the case of digital display, a digital video signal is subjected to the following signal processing by a signal processing circuit 1, and then it is outputted to the liquid crystal panel 100 via a D-A converter 3 and an amplifier 4. When writing white data, the signal processing circuit 1 makes all the bits of the digital data high ('1') and outputs a high potential 'H' through the D-A converter 3. Moreover, when writing black data, the circuit makes all the bits of the digital data low ('0') and outputs a high potential 'L' through the D-A converter 3.
