PURPOSE: An extensible CID(Caller Identification Delivery) terminal adding extensibility to a conventional CID terminal and a service method using the same are provided to add a function for transmitting and receiving a specific character message to the CID equipment which displays only basic information. CONSTITUTION: A user inputs a short message in a user's extensible CID terminal(s10), and stores the inputted short message in the extensible CID terminal(s20). It is judged whether the user uses a charged service, or attaches an advertisement to the short message and uses a free service(s30). An advertisement server tags a character type advertisement to the short message of the user(s40,s60). The user selects an advertisement for combining the selected advertisement to the short message(s50,s60). A full electronic exchange basic caller information of the user to the extensible CID terminal of the user(s70,s80). A device and telephone number of the user is confirmed(s90), and the short message is transmitted to the extensible CID terminal(s100).
