PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ferritic stainless steel sheet having excellent formability, and method for manufacturing it. SOLUTION: In the ferritic stainless steel sheet with excellent formability, the average R of r-value (stain in sheet-width direction/strain in sheet-thickness direction) in the case where 15% tensile plastic deformation is applied in three directions of a rolling direction, a direction perpendicular to the rolling direction and a direction at an angle of 45 deg. to the rolling direction and the average N of n-value (work hardening exponent) at 10-15% strain in the case where strain is applied in three directions of a rolling direction, a direction perpendicular to the rolling direction and a direction at an angle of 45 deg. to the rolling direction satisfy the relation of R+10 N>=3.5. In the method for manufacturing the steel sheet, the average grain diameter dx before cold rolling is regulated to 80-400μm and also the average grain diameter dz of the final product sheet is regulated so that it satisfies dx/dz<=3.
