FAULT NOTE USER INTERFACE FOR PRINTING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a more serviceable interface system for causing a user or operator to recognize fault notes in a printing system. SOLUTION: A fault screen window 66 for displaying faults about individual devices which constitute the printing system is provided which can be opened by selecting a fault button 52 or a fault icon 64. A fault note window 78 for user editable texts linked to the window 66 is also provided. The fault note window 78 displays only the user editable texts about the selected devices or, if no devices are selected, the user editable texts about the system. The fault note icon 82 is adapted to appear if the user editable texts were previously input to the fault note window 78.
