PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which efficiently and precisely controls the temperature of a fixing heater in a fixing part to a target temperature by resolving effect of supply voltage fluctuation and a harmonic current. SOLUTION: At least a fixing heater 9 which is heated by rectifying an AC power and performing switching control with a frequency higher than the input frequency of the AC power by a fixing heater driving part 3 and a fixing heater 8 which is heated by directly controlling turning-on/off of the AC power by a fixing heater driving part 4 are provided as fixing heaters which heat a fixing roll 6 in a fixing part 5 in order to heat a transfer paper, to which a toner image has been transferred, to fix the toner image on the transfer paper, are provided, and only the fixing heater 9 is operated by a main body control part 2 to control the temperature of the fixing roll 6 in the standby state. Consequently, the harmonic current in the phase control system and supply voltage variance in the turning-on/off control system are resolved to efficiently and precisely control the fixing roll to the fixing temperature.
