PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor structure for a reciprocating compressor compensating a moving amount of a magnet by compressive pressure during driving of the compressor, preventing output deterioration of a motor, and capable of preventing a magnetic saturation phenomenon of the motor. SOLUTION: The motor for a reciprocating compressor is provided with an outer core 2 with a wire-wound coil 6 wound in an inner side, an inner core 4 arranged with a predetermined interval to an inner circumferential face of the outer core 2 and forming a flux in a space with the outer core 2 when power is applied to the wire-wound coil 6, and the magnet 8 arranged so as to linearly move between the outer core 2 and the inner core 4 and linearly reciprocating a piston 18. An initial center position of the magnet 8 is positioned eccentrically from a center position of the outer core 2 and the inner core 4 for a predetermined distance in a moving direction of the piston 18 of when the piston 18 compresses fluid.
