PURPOSE: A bicycle operating system is provided to obtain maximum effects from the minimum physical energy by varying the length of the crank shaft by the rotation of the pedal. CONSTITUTION: A bicycle operating system(1) comprises crank plates(9,9') arranged between upper and lower slide tubes(2,2'); a crank shaft(7) coupled to the upper slide tube; a connection rod(13) connected between the crank shaft and a shaft rod(10) of the crank plates; and a pedal shaft(15) mounted to the crank plates, and which includes a pedal(16) engaged to the pedal shaft. The connection rod has a turn buckle(14) screw-coupled to the center of the connection rod in such a manner that the length of the connection rod is adjustable. The crank shaft has a surface where scale(20) for adjusting and setting the length of the connection rod.
