摘要 |
PURPOSE: A laser diode is provided to improve optical efficiency and a noise characteristic by lowering a reflectance of an anti-reflection mirror of a front facet mirror. CONSTITUTION: An anti-reflection mirror(11) is formed on one front facet mirror(20a). A metal mirror(18) is formed on an outer face of the anti-reflection mirror(11). A high reflectance mirror(12) is formed on the other front facet mirror(20b). A current is applied by a P-electrode(13) and an N-electrode(17). Positive holes and electrons are moved by a P-clad layer(14) and an N-clad layer(16). The positive holes and the electrons are reunited on an active layer(15). A light is generated by the reunion of the positive holes and the electrons. The generated light is radiated to the high reflectance mirror(12) through the front facet mirrors(20a,20b). The light is reflected by the high reflectance mirror(12). The reflected light transmits the anti-reflection mirror(11) and the metal mirror(18).
