PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for setting image processing conditions, in which an image processing applied to low-resolution image data can be reproduced appropriately and applied to high resolution image data, and to provide an image processor utilizing that method. SOLUTION: The low-resolution image of an image to be processed is subjected to image processing, and the similar image processing is also applied to a specified color chart. Using the image processed color chart and the original of that color chart, the image processing applied to a low-resolution image is estimated, and then the image processing conditions of the high-resolution image of an image to be processed are determined, using the results of the estimation.
